Registered clinical counsellors, a psychologist and a dietitian offering trauma, perinatal and eating disorder support at a New Westminster office or online.
Kelly Adler & Associates Counselling is a group clinical counselling practice based in New Westminster. Kelly Adler is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC, MC) with over 15 years of clinical counselling experience. Ten clinicians are listed on the practice's team page. Between them they cover trauma and PTSD, including complex and developmental trauma. Reproductive and perinatal mental health is a second core area. The team also works with eating disorders, among them anorexia, bulimia, EDNOS, ARFID and binge eating disorder. Emotional regulation, parenting concerns and life transitions are also covered. Nutritional counselling is handled by a Registered Dietitian and covers eating disorders, perinatal nutrition, diabetes, and infant and toddler nutrition. A dedicated page sets out the practice's trauma and PTSD counselling, including symptoms of trauma, grief and the use of Lifespan Integration therapy.
Kelly Adler is certified in Lifespan Integration and in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and works as a Lifespan Integration trainer. She is listed on the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors directory and holds the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) designation. The wider team includes registered clinical counsellors and registered social workers with an MSW/RSW designation. A registered psychologist and a registered dietitian are also on the roster. Specialties listed across the team include EMDR, Lifespan Integration and EFFT, along with ADHD and child, youth and family work. Standard counselling sessions run 60 minutes. New clients are asked to complete a New Client Request Form before a first therapy appointment.
The practice works with adults, parents and couples, and the roster indicates some clinicians also see children, youth and families. Sessions are listed at $160 to $190 per hour depending on the clinician. It does not currently offer direct billing to insurers, though receipts are issued so clients can claim through extended health plans. Trauma counselling can also be funded through the Crime Victim Assistance Program. The practice's reproductive mental health page publishes that fee range alongside its work on fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, prenatal anxiety and low mood, postpartum adjustment and birth trauma.
Emotional regulation counselling draws on Lifespan Integration, DBT, family therapy and couples therapy, aimed at nervous system regulation and emotional overwhelm. In-person appointments are held at the office at Suite 206, 304 Columbia Street in the Sapperton area of New Westminster, close to a SkyTrain station. An initial consultation can be held in person or online. The practice serves New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam, and offers virtual sessions for clients across those cities. It can be reached at 778-653-5253 or by email at [email protected].
Based outside Pitt Meadows and serves it as part of a wider area, so this is a call-out service rather than somewhere to visit.
