Businesses in Somerset, Pitt Meadows
A residential area south of the Lougheed Highway and east of Bonson Road, named for Somerset Drive and centred on Somerset Park and Edith McDermott Elementary. The land was the McMyn and Masson farm before it was subdivided, and it remains almost entirely housing.
Somerset is the pocket of streets bounded by the Lougheed Highway to the north, Bonson Road to the west and the rail line beyond, defined with those boundaries in the City's own 2025 retail and service commercial study. Somerset Park and Edith McDermott Elementary sit in the middle of it, and the City's heritage pages record the area as the former McMyn and Masson farm, which is about as clear a summary of Pitt Meadows' last century as you could ask for.
Like most of the residential east of the city it has very little commercial frontage of its own. What businesses there are tend to be small, home based or tucked into the edges near the highway, and residents shop at Meadowtown a few minutes north or in the Town Centre to the west.
