Japanese kitchen on Lougheed Highway serving sushi, sashimi and cooked izakaya style plates including karaage. Dine in, takeout and delivery, with vegetarian options and a kids menu. Closed Mondays.
Kisoji Japanese Kitchen occupies a unit on Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows' Town Centre, one of the two main corridors where most of the city's restaurants cluster. The menu splits between raw and cooked: sushi and sashimi on one side, izakaya style plates on the other, including karaage, the fried chicken dish that shows up on most Japanese kitchens of this kind. A raw bar alongside a hot kitchen means the menu reads longer than a straight sushi counter, and it gives a table with mixed tastes something to agree on.
Service covers dine in, takeout and delivery, and the kitchen also runs a vegetarian section and a kids menu, so it is set up for a family table as easily as for someone eating alone at the counter. It is closed Mondays, open the rest of the week. Lougheed Highway carries a fair amount of through traffic in Pitt Meadows, and the restaurants along it tend to serve two overlapping crowds: people who live in Town Centre and stop in on foot, and people passing through who see the sign from the road. Kisoji's mix of formats, quick rolls for one person, a shared izakaya spread for a group, suits both. For a small city surrounded by farmland and floodplain, having a kitchen that covers this much range in one place is useful rather than flashy. Pitt Meadows Local lists Kisoji Japanese Kitchen under restaurants for anyone in Town Centre looking for sushi, sashimi, or a cooked Japanese meal with options for vegetarians and kids.
