The newest guide sits at the top. I go back and rewrite the older ones when something changes on the ground.
Meadowtown Centre holds most of the retail floor space in the city, and almost all of it is national chains. How the site works, which independent businesses are inside it, and what it still cannot do for you.
Pitt Meadows has more hair chairs than a city of nineteen thousand has any right to. A short guide to the salons, studios and barbershops worth booking, grouped by the kind of cut you actually want.
Roughly 189 acres of light industrial land sits along Airport Way, and most people here have never driven through it. A guide to what is out there, how it is laid out, and why lunch is the weak point of the working end of town.
Almost nothing in this city is more than a few minutes from anything else, and people still lose an hour to a short errand. Here is how I rank the bike, the sidewalk, the train and the car.
The first genuinely warm weekend arrives once a year and the whole city goes outside at the same moment. Where to go, what to do first, and why the bike should already be in working order.
Most of Pitt Meadows is farmland, and almost none of it sells to you directly. Here are the berry farms, the nurseries and the market that are actually worth the drive.
The dike trails ranked for dog owners, why you should register with a vet before you need one, and the ditches, bikes and farm fields that catch people out.
Four dike trails, ranked. Which one is worth half a Saturday, which one you can do before dinner, and why none of them have any shade at all.
Nineteen thousand people and a short list of options. Here is what I would actually book, ranked, with the reasons attached and the caveats included.
Every autumn the cranberry beds get flooded on purpose, on land the rest of the year is spent keeping dry. A look at what the harvest involves and how the growing year winds down here.
Nineteen thousand people do not support a shopping district. They do support a bookshop, a fabric business, a brewery, two florists and a garden centre, which covers more of a Christmas list than most people here assume.
July 1 in a city of nineteen thousand is a small day, and better for it. Coffee, a dike walk before the heat, an afternoon at Osprey Village, and a warning about promising anybody fireworks.
Tips and corrections
Somewhere I missed, or something I got wrong?
I read everything that comes in. If a place has closed, changed hands, or is simply better than I gave it credit for, tell me and I'll go back and eat there again.
