Maple Ridge battery shop stocking new and reconditioned batteries for vehicles, RVs, marine, solar and mobility use, with free in-store testing.
Pacific Batteries has been in the battery business since 2010, serving residential and commercial customers across the Lower Mainland. It operates as a division of Pacific Auto Core Ltd., with a retail store in Maple Ridge that opened in 2016 and a wholesale location in Surrey added in 2020. The shop carries both new and reconditioned batteries across a broad span of applications, including car and truck batteries, motorcycle and scooter, RV and marine, mobility and medical, alarms and household, solar storage, and battery chargers and boosters. Battery testing and analysis is free at either store and requires no appointment.
Reconditioned batteries go through a three-part screen before they are offered for sale: a carbon pile load test, a hydrometer chemistry test, and a cranking performance test. The company states that a battery is not approved for sale unless it meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications on all three. Reconditioned units carry a one-year exchange warranty, while the company lists warranties of two to five years on new batteries depending on brand and application.
The stock list reaches well beyond passenger vehicles. The commercial and industrial batteries side covers semi and diesel truck, deep cycle, heavy equipment, pallet jack, power tailgate and AGM units, with separate lines for off-grid solar storage and for mobility aids, scooters and medical devices. Recondition charging of a customer-supplied lead acid battery is priced at $10 to $30 per battery, depending on size and application. To qualify, the battery has to pass a visual condition check for cracks, leaks and bulging and be three years old or newer, and the reconditioning fee is waived if the attempt fails and the battery is replaced at the shop.
The Maple Ridge store is open 8:30am to 5:30pm and takes calls at 604-457-2288, while the Surrey location is wholesale and runs by appointment only, so that one is worth arranging before driving out. Free recycling is offered for household quantities of alkaline and rechargeable batteries, including laptop and cell phone packs, and the company pays cash for scrap lead-acid batteries, including steel case forklift batteries. The retail storefront sits on Stewart Crescent in Maple Ridge, the municipality directly bordering Pitt Meadows.
Based outside Pitt Meadows and serves it as part of a wider area, so this is a call-out service rather than somewhere to visit.
